First European University joins SuiteAcademy

NetSuite's educational programme offers students the opportunity to learn cloud IT and business skills

NetSuite has announced SRH University Heidelberg is the first European university to join its SuiteAcademy programme, which aims to teach students the cloud IT and business skills they need to enter modern workplaces.

The company said the programme will be available to the students studying informatics courses and will be included on classes with supply chain and logistics and on sales management and CRM modules on the German university's campus.

Mark Bidwell, associate director of Educational Programs at NetSuite said: "The SuiteAcademy Program has grown tremendously since its inception in 2011, and continues to enable universities to build comprehensive curriculums that prepare their students for the real-world.

"SRH joining our program further validates that hands-on experience with cloud technology is invaluable to students and employers alike."

The SuiteAcademy programme provides free NetSuite licensing, resources, and training to help those on relevant courses elevate their learning.

Dr Gerd Moeckel, dean of the School of Informatics at SRH University Heidelberg commented: "For our students studying business informatics, it's essential to learn a good combination of theory and practice."

"The cloud is the future of software, and bringing NetSuite into our curriculum for hands-on training will help educate our students on the most up-to-date and sophisticated business management software," he said.

NetSuite SuiteAcademy is up and running in a number of universities around the world including Purdue University, UCLA, University of Texas at Austin, Arizona State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the US, and The University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University in the Philippines. So far it has reached 25,000 students since it started in 2011.
