Login VSI revamps VDI benchmark
Login VSI has enhanced its virtual desktop benchmark software with more capabilities
Login Consultants has launched a new version of its benchmarking tool, Login VSI. The software, which has been designed for the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and server-based computing (SBC) markets, has been upgraded to include a variety of new features.
Companies are increasingly turning to VDI deployments and the market is set to increase rapidly. According to ABI Research, the global market is set to increase 10-fold in the next five years but this growth causes problems for companies looking to move to VDI as they move to check that their systems are performing as they should.
Login VSI 3.5 contains new visualisation features that enable users to see the differences between results in a single chart, helps to recognise trends and provides insight in the RemoteFX performance on virtual machine level and hypervisor level. Additional new features include the full automation of test cycles, the ability to pause a test and to automatically reset workloads when a session freezes. The company also claimed that the new version was much easier to install and manage than previous versions had been.
“Login VSI is developed specifically for (vendor) independent benchmarking of virtualised desktop infrastructures and is becoming the worldwide industry standard for testing SBC and VDI environments” said Jeroen van de Kamp, CTO Login Consultants. “Almost every large vendor uses Login VSI for research and development in their laboratory. This encouraged us to enhance Login VSI with more options to gain detailed test results”.
