Range of new infrastructure launched to meet growing demand
Dell Wyse has announced the release of its new Dell Wyse D class mid-range cloud client family.
The products within the D class family are able to support connection to Citrix, Microsoft and VMware virtualisation technologies, as well as Dell’s own cloud software offering. The company says it has developed the new range in response to an increase in the use of virtualisation technologies in large and mid-sized companies and that this latest offering “serves as a vital new component within Dell’s overall end-to-end desktop virtualisation solution set.”
The D class cloud client family, comprised of thin clients and PCs is, the company said, particularly good at delivering high-quality graphics and high definition voice and video content. T
he D class cloud client family reportedly provides up to a 43 percent higher 2D graphics performance over similar competitor products using the standard Passmark Performance Test 7.0 benchmark, and up to a 76 percent higher score for 3D graphics performance.
“The Dell Wyse D class mid-range cloud client family provides new levels of desktop performance in an extremely efficient, compact form factor, as well as extends Dell’s cloud client computing offering to better serve the customer needs,” said Param Desai, executive director of product management at Dell Wyse.
“The D class offers businesses the efficiency, flexibility and ease of integration they require, while end users enjoy a rich, high-performance multimedia desktop experience,” Desai added.
The first product in the range, the Dell Wyse D90D7, is available now, with two further models, the D00D and the D50D, expected to be released in the near future.
