Citrix overhauls cloud payments with Zuora partnership

News

New partnership will make it easier for the virtualisation giant to accurately charge for cloud services, it is claimed.

Virtualisation giant Citrix has partnered with billing provider Zuora to rollout a new payment system for its CloudPortal product.

Citrix CloudPortal allows cloud providers and their customers to use multiple apps and services from an all-in-one web console.

It is claimed the new billing and payment system, which uses power metering, will make it easier for Citrix to accurately charge for the cloud services people use.

Jeff Yoshimura, vice president of marketing of Zuora, said: “[Citrix] clients have a choice of payment options: pay-per-use, pay up-front monthly, quarterly or annually. They can stop the service at any time.”

The new system will also help Citrix speed up its customers’ cloud deployments, he added. "With Zuora, Citrix will be able to concentrate on their services without worrying about how to charge.

"With its business model sorted out it will have faster access to the market, and faster access to revenue," he said.
