Microsoft's Avanade joint venture takes enterprise resource planning to the cloud.

Avanade has today released a new cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) offering to help companies connect and manage business functions including financials, payroll and human resources.

The product, called Avanade Cloud ERP, is a configured and customised version of Microsoft Dynamics AX, which comes with ongoing user support, application management, pre-production and production environments and system maintenance services.

The company claims its Cloud ERP can connect subsidiaries, divisions and branches to headquarters and addresses the need for a scalable two-tier ERP system.

Avanade vice president Bernd Weidenmueller said the product would help reduce maintenance hassles and minimise costs for companies.

“In today’s fast-paced economic climate, companies need the agility to quickly scale to meet changing business requirements while also reducing costs,” he said.

Avanade Cloud ERP is enabled with Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite, Windows Azure, Microsoft Office 365, private cloud and Avanade Online Services for Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Avanade was founded in 2000 as a joint venture by Accenture and Microsoft Corporation.
